Studying the Book of Mormon
"My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions" Russell M. Nelson "The Book of Mormon: What Would Your Life Be Like withouth It?" General Conference, Oct. 2017
Daily Studying
Elder Howard W. Hunter in 1979 said "It is certain that one who studies the scriptures every day accomplishes far more than one who devotes considerable time one day and then lets days go by before continuing. Not only should we study each day, but there should be a regular time set aside when we can concentrate without interference." (Howard W. Hunter, "Reading the Scriptures," October 1979)
Times of Trouble
"We live in a time of great trouble and wickedness. What will protect us from the sin and evil so prevalent in the world today? I maintain that a strong testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of His gospel will help see us through to safety. If you are not reading the Book of Mormon each day, please do so. If you will read it prayerfully and with a sincere desire to know the truth, the Holy Ghost will manifest its truth to you. If it is true—and I solemnly testify that it is—then Joseph Smith was a prophet who saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ." President Thomas S. Monson (The Power of the Book of Mormon, General Conference April 2017)
Sample Study Plan
Every day you will be presented with three things, a doctrine or principle, verses from the Book of Mormon to read and ponder, and sections from manuals from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to study the life and teachings of Jesus Christ
Principle
As you study the scripture passages about the Savior your testimony of Him will be strengthen and you will draw closer to Him.
Reading Assignment
Read 1 Nephi 1:1-15
The Book of Mormon starts with a Heavenly Vision to Lehi as recorded by Nephi. Lehi saw the vision after praying with all his heart in behalf of his people. Who are you praying for with all your heart? How have you seen the Lords hand in your life in answering your prayers?

Still not convinced? Take a look at some of the reviews from the hundreds who love this course.
-"My wife and I have been doing the lessons now for 2 weeks. We love them."
-"One—it has blessed each day with scripture and good songs and messages that lift my day. And two—it has blessed many of my family and friends"
-"This has been a treat to study the Book of Mormon and most importantly, Gospel principles. You’ve organized this very well by having conference talks by the prophets and apostles ‘mingled’ with scriptures. I appreciate the questions which help me understand what you are trying to accomplish and helps me read the scriptures and talked more focused. I like the daily outline and encouragement which has strengthened my testimony and my ability to teach others."
-"I appreciate the links to past General Conference talks."
-"I have enjoyed having a purpose to my study. In the past I have just read and written down thoughts that came to me which was useful and insightful but it has been fun to have other thoughts to search for. I am also trying to link the daily topic to what is in the reading. Some days it is obvious and other days not. It’s nice to have a Christ centered study. Sometimes it is easy just to read and not think about how my Savior fit into all of it."
-"Thank you for creating this! I have loved having the direction in my study. It has made it easier to sit down and study knowing that I already have something specific to read and guide me through"
Daily Scriptures from the Topical Guide - Jesus Christ
This daily course is built around the Topical Guide section about Jesus Christ. Each day you will receive four to six links to read verses about Jesus Christ throughout the Standard Works.
President Russell M. Nelson has invited you to study the life of Jesus Christ.
“I have an invitation for you that will help—it’s an assignment, actually—if you choose to accept it. Commence tonight to consecrate a portion of your time each week to studying everything Jesus said and did as recorded in the Old Testament, for He is the Jehovah of the Old Testament. Study His laws as recorded in the New Testament, for He is its Christ. Study His doctrine as recorded in the Book of Mormon, for there is no book of scripture in which His mission and His ministry are more clearly revealed. And study His words as recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants, for He continues to teach His people in this dispensation.” (Source)

President Russell M. Nelson said:
“For me, to be able to accomplish this assignment was just thrilling!
Something I found to be most insightful was that the Savior was telling us about Himself through these various periods of time—Old Testament, New Testament, the Restoration period, and our day. In all books of scripture, the story is the same and the Storyteller is the same.
I have devoted much of my 92 years to learning about the Savior, but rare are the occasions when I have been able to learn as much as I did over this six-week study period. In fact, I learned so much about Him from this study that I am planning to share much of it in other upcoming addresses that I am currently preparing.”
